Current Processing Time

All documentation received up to and including August 25 has been logged into the QECO system and the acknowledgment cards of that date (for teachers only, not students) were mailed on September 8. Information is not currently in our system beyond that date. Acknowledgment cards (for teachers only) will be forwarded within 3 weeks of our office receiving your application.

The current processing time for teachers is approximately 8 weeks from the date on your acknowledgment card.

For students, processing time varies depending on volume, but can be greater than 12 weeks.

For both students and teachers the status and progress of an application which was completed on the QECO website may be monitored by clicking the "Check Application Status" link on the front page of the website.

Office Hours

The QECO office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of the following: The QECO office will close at 1:00 p.m. every Friday throughout the summer, beginning July 3 through to Labour Day.

Student Evaluations

Student application forms for 2010 graduates are no longer available. They will become available for 2011 graduating students of publicly funded Ontario teacher training institutions beginning the week of December 21, 2010. All student applications must be received by QECO no later than April 30th of the year of certification.
